Building a Fence and a New Shutter in Arta
In this project in Arta, I was asked to build a fence around a newly constructed terrace and replace an old shutter for the water tank that had seen better days.
The new shutter was crafted from recycled, treated wood. I cut, glued and screwed large beams to make a custom shutter. Since the shutter would be exposed to a lot of water, I sealed it completely in tar (asphalt) to ensure durability and protect it from the elements before installation. The fence, made from new wood, was also treated to withstand rain.
The end result is a practical, enclosed space, thanks to the security the fence provides.
PS: In the last photo, you can see two boards that aren't painted yet, so they appear in a different colour. Of course, that has since been taken care of.
