Turning an Old Shed into a Cozy Sauna

My colleague William van Veldhoven and I were asked to turn an old shed in a garden at a finca in Alaró, Mallorca, into a relaxing sauna for the new owners. They wanted a peaceful space to unwind, especially for those chilly winter days. We were excited to take on the challenge and create the perfect spot for their home retreat.

We kept the rustic charm of the shed while making sure it was functional as a sauna. We even added a custom wooden table and bed to make the space extra comfortable and found the right heating system to make sure it was warm and cozy. The combination of natural materials and the right touches made the sauna feel both simple and luxurious.

We also gave new life to two old wooden doors that were part of another house. After restoring them and adding special handles, we made sure they fit perfectly into the sauna. The end result was a cozy, relaxing retreat—what was once just an old shed is now a beautiful sauna ready to provide comfort for years to come.
